Why I Tune Pianos?
Good Question..... I won't use the standard Joke because you can't Tuna Fish. Currently, I mainly tune "by ear" using Fourths & fifths" for the temperament checking them with thirds and sixths. The final check comes in at $85.00. (distances within 40 miles round trip) I also use electronic tuners upon request and in concert / performance situations. NEW Technology is worth knowing about and using, however, I believe tuning a piano well with out it certainly makes using it much more beneficial for you and me!!
Standard Rate
- $85.00 within 40 mile round trip
- $95.00 within 60 mile round trip
- Over 60 miles round trip = $95.00 base + .50 cents per mile after 60 miles
*$35.00 surcharge for more than one tuning on the same day if badly out of tune
**$75.00 per hour labor rate based on 1/4 hour for all additional repair work
***Tuning more than one piano in a given area will reduce the mileage surcharge by the number of pianos tuned (so tell your friends and sign them up!)
